Ingredients
- ½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary (or 1 teaspoon dried)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme (or 1 teaspoon dried)
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 cup lukewarm water (110°F–115°F)
- 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast (1 packet)
- ¼ teaspoon sugar, honey, or maple syrup
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
Directions
- In a skillet, warm olive oil with garlic, rosemary, thyme, and pepper over low heat for 5–10 minutes until aromatic. Do not brown the garlic. Let cool.
- Combine warm water, yeast, and sugar in a bowl. Stir and let rest for 5 minutes.
- Add 1 cup flour and ¼ cup infused oil to the yeast mixture. Stir lightly and rest for 5 minutes.
- Mix in remaining flour and salt, then knead 10–15 times until smooth.
- Transfer dough to an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–2 hours or until doubled.
- Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Oil a 9×13-inch baking sheet with 2 tablespoons infused oil.
- Spread dough into the pan using your hands. Dimple the surface with your fingertips.
- Drizzle remaining infused oil on top. Let rise for 20–30 minutes.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly before slicing and serving.
