Ingredients
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups fresh blueberries
- 1 (14.1-ounce) package double-crust pie pastry, thawed
- 1 tablespoon butter
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Position the oven rack on the lowest level.
- In a large bowl, combine sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt. Sprinkle the mixture over the blueberries and gently toss until evenly coated.
- Line a 9-inch pie dish with one pie crust. Pour the blueberry filling into the crust and spread evenly.
- Dot the filling with small pieces of butter.
- Cut the remaining pastry into 1/2- to 3/4-inch strips and weave a lattice top over the filling. Crimp and seal the edges.
- Bake on the lowest oven rack for about 50 minutes, or until the filling is bubbling and the crust is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and allow the pie to cool completely before slicing to ensure the filling sets properly.
