Ingredients
1 1/8 cups warm water (110°F / 45°C)
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 1/2 teaspoons white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
Directions
In a mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it rest for a few minutes until it becomes frothy.
Add the flour, salt, and oil, then mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic in texture.
Cover the dough and allow it to rise for about 2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and divide it into 8 equal portions.
Shape each portion into a ball, then roll them out into circles about 6 to 7 inches wide.
Cover and let the dough rounds rest for 30 minutes until slightly puffed.
Preheat the oven to 500°F (260°C).
Place the dough rounds on a baking surface and bake for 4 to 5 minutes, until they puff up and develop light golden spots.
Remove from the oven and cover with a clean towel to keep them soft.
