Ingredients

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup light or dark corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups pecan halves
  • 1 (9-inch) unbaked single pie crust

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a medium bowl, lightly beat the eggs. Add sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla, and salt. Whisk until fully combined.
  • Stir in pecan halves and pour the mixture evenly into the unbaked pie crust.
  • Bake for 15 minutes at 400°F. Then reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for another 35–40 minutes, or until the pie is golden brown and the filling is slightly set but still a little jiggly in the center.
  • Allow the pie to cool for at least 2 hours before slicing to let the filling firm up.
  • Serve at room temperature or slightly warm.
