Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 2 teaspoons dashi granules or dashi powder
- 3 tablespoons miso paste (white, yellow, or red)
- 1 (8 ounce) package silken tofu, cut into small cubes
- 2 green onions, sliced diagonally
Directions
- Pour water into a medium saucepan and add dashi granules. Bring to a gentle boil over medium-high heat while stirring to dissolve the dashi completely.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low. Place miso paste in a small bowl, add a few tablespoons of hot broth, and whisk until smooth. Stir the dissolved miso back into the pot to avoid lumps.
- Add the diced tofu carefully and stir gently so the tofu keeps its shape.
- Add sliced green onions, separate the layers, and let the soup simmer lightly for 2 to 3 minutes. Do not boil after adding miso.
- Remove from heat and serve hot for best flavor and texture.
