Ingredients
- 5 slices bacon
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- ¼ cup chopped green onions
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Optional additions: sautéed mushrooms, spinach, zucchini, potatoes, tomatoes, or bell peppers for a veggie or vegetarian frittata.
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). If you do not have a 10-inch ovenproof skillet, lightly grease a 7×11-inch baking dish.
- Cook the bacon in a large ovenproof skillet over medium-high heat until evenly browned, about 8–10 minutes. Transfer to paper towels to drain, then crumble and set aside.
- Prepare the egg mixture by whisking together the eggs, milk, melted butter, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl until well combined.
- Assemble the frittata by pouring the egg mixture into the skillet (or prepared baking dish). Evenly sprinkle the green onions and crumbled bacon over the top, followed by the shredded cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes, or until the center is set and a knife inserted near the middle comes out clean.
- Rest and serve by allowing the frittata to cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
